Parnis Watches Review: High Quality Chinese Watches?

In today’s review, we will be looking into Parnis Watches. While it is not necessarily a big name brand, it has become increasingly popular over the years. You may have already heard of this brand, and want to know a little more about it. The main thing people want to know is whether or not they produce quality watches.

Well, in this article we will go into details about this brand, and answer many of the questions you might have about Parnis watches. Before we even get into the watches, the first thing we will do, is take a look at the brand itself.

About Parnis

First of all, Parnis is a Chinese watch brand. It was first established back in 2005 by Xiao Jian Hong. The Parnis brand could be considered part of a mushroom brand, as it provides manufacturing for other Chinese brands as well as outsourcing for other distributors.

The actual manufacturing process for Parnis watches is not all done at the same factory though. The cases are made by the Fu Yuan Xin Watch Product Factory. Different Parnis watches use various movements. They use Miyota, Dixmont, and Sea-Gull movements. The various parts are assembled at a factory in Tong De Wei.

Parnis is most well known for producing luxury styled watches, specifically their homages. They specialize in producing watches that resemble other luxury brands such as Rolex. The Parnis lookalikes, however are far less expensive than the watches they take inspiration from.

Parnis Watches Review

In this section, we will go over several important aspects of Parnis watches. By looking at the overall build quality, designs, and pricing of these watches, we can get an idea of whether or not this is a good brand. We will begin by looking at the build quality.

Build Quality

Parnis makes analog watches. I mentiuoned some of the movements before, and they use quartz or automatic, self winding movements. Parnis watches have stainless steel cases paired with bands that are usually either stainless steel, or leather.

Parnis is known for having sapphire dial windows on most of their watches. Some models even feature ceramic bezels as well. Their watches have a water resistance between 30 and up to 200 meters depending on the model.

When looking at the overall build quality of Parnis watches, they have some of the makings of quality luxury watches. Including sapphire dial windows, and even ceramic bezels is pretty uncommon in inexpensive watch brands like this.

Designs

I also mentioned before that Parnis produces luxury style watches. This is evident in the designs of their watches, as many of them are homages to Rolex and other luxury brands. This type of style is going to appeal to those who like those types of luxury watches, but find them to be unaffordable.

With Parnis watches, you get the luxury feel and style of an expensive watch, at a mere fraction of the price. Stylistically, Parnis hits the mark. Their watches look good. Even their homages are almost indistinguishable from their luxury counterparts at first glance.

Pricing

The last thing to factor in with this watch brand is the pricing. Pricing can make or break a brand, depending on the overall quality of the watch. We have already seen that Parnis watches do have a higher quality to them, but do they have the price to match?

Parnis watches are priced in the middle ground of budget luxury watches. While they are not the cheapest luxury styled watches out there, they are not overly expensive either. This is especially true when you consider the quality you get for the price. You are not going to find any truly expensive Parnis watches, so I would say that these watches are very fairly priced.

Parnis Watches Review: Recommendations

Now if you like what you have seen so far, and are interested in purchasing one of these watches, we have a couple of recommendations here.

Parnis Daytona

This is Parnis’ homage to the Rolex Daytona. It definitely captures the look and style of the Rolex watch. This is an analog chronograph watch. The movement used here is the Seiko VK64 meca-quartz movement. That movement combines both quartz and sweeping second hand movement.

The case and band are stainless steel, and it has a sapphire crystal dial window. It also features a ceramic bezel. For water resistance, you will get 50 meters of water resistance, which is not safe to take in the water, but can handle minor splashes just fine.

Quick Look

  • Seiko VK64 meca-quartz movement
  • Sapphire dial window
  • Ceramic bezel
  • 50 meter water resistance

Parnis Datejust

This is another Rolex homage by Parnis. The Parnis Datejust highly resembles the Rolex model. It comes in several color variants, but this one has the 2 tone gold and silver colored band, along with a gold dial. This is an analog watch that uses a 21 jewel, automatic movement. There is an exhibition case back showing off this movement.

It also has a sapphire crystal dial window. As the name suggests, this watch also includes a date window. You only have 50 meters of water resistance with this watch, so you should avoid submerging it in water.

Quick Look

  • 21 jewel mechanical, automatic movement
  • sapphire crystal window
  • date window
  • exhibition case back
  • 50 meter water resistance
