Casio A158 Vs A159: What’s The Difference?

In this article we are going to be taking a quick look at two of Casio’s retro styled models: the Casio A158 Vs the Casio A159. The retro styles are throwbacks to Casio’s most popular models of the 80’s and 90’s.

These two models in particular look nearly identical, so often the question comes up as to what the actual differences are between these two models?

Even though, at first glance, they look the same, surely there must be a difference. After all, one is numbered higher than the other! So does this mean that the A159 improves and expands upon the A158? Well, sort of, as you will soon see.

There are indeed both differences and similarities between these two Casio retro models. We will go over the similarities and the differences throughout this article. To begin with, we will start with the differences, since that is most likely what you came here for!

Casio A158 Vs A159: The Differences

Band And Clasp

The most prominent difference between these two models is in the watch band. The band on the A158 is fully adjustable, while the band on the A159 is semi-adjustable. Also, the clasp that secures the band is different between the two models. The A158 has a more standard deployment style clasp. The clasp on the A159 is a fold over style clasp.

So with all that being said, this fact alone can be the determining factor on which one of these you would buy. Different people may have a preference for a particular type of band and clasp to the other.

Watch Face

Differences here are very minor. The only thing really is the placement of the text that surrounds the digital display. But otherwise, the text is the same. Even the colors used in the text are identical.

Pricing

Both of these watches are relatively inexpensive, however, you may notice quite the price discrepancy between the A158 and the A159, with the A159 being significantly more expensive. Once again, neither watch is very expensive, but there is a difference in price here.

Interestingly enough, if you look at the back of the cases on both watches, you will see that the A158 is made in China, while the A159 is made in Japan. This could quite possibly account for the variation in price between these two models.

Features
