Smart Watch GT08 Review: CNPGD

A GT08 smartwatch is a generic brand Chinese smartwatch that can be bought for an extremely cheap price when compared to other smartwatches on the market. You may see these types of watches advertised under various different private label brand names on popular online marketplaces. A lot of people may be hesitant to buy really cheap watches. I can understand customers’ hesitation there. If a deal sounds too good to be true, then there has to be a catch, right? Well today we will be reviewing one such super cheap watch. This is our smart watch GT08 review of the CNPGD model.

Overview

There are a lot of cool features packed into this inexpensive smartwatch. You can use this watch as an actual phone if you get a sim card from a service carrier put in, or you can just sync it with your current smart phone, which is what I am sure most people are going to do.

It is charged via usb port. It will take about 2.5 hours to charge completely. There have, however; been some user complaints about battery life, and charge time.

Features

This watch contains a 0.3 megapixel camera for taking photos with. Definitely not high quality, but this is a budget smartwatch. It has built in speakers for music playback, although don’t expect extraordinary audio quality here.

There is also a microphone for speaking during calls, which once again, is lacking in quality, so whoever you are talking to will hear a bit of distortion from your voice, but nonetheless, it works.

The CNPGD has a built in pedometer for tracking steps, a voice recorder, a calendar, an alarm, and can be used as an mp3 player. The watch has a sedentary reminder that will beep or vibrate to alert you if you have been sitting down for too long.

When synced with your smart phone you will get notifications in the event of texts, calls, or app notifications. It will also beep or vibrate to alert you of when you are out of range of your phone, so that you do not leave your phone somewhere by accident. Finally, it also has a sleep monitor which will keep a record of your quality of sleep.

Quick Look

  • 0.3MP camera
  • lots of cool features
  • can be used as phone with some carriers
  • syncs with smartphone features
  • cheap
    • some user complaints about battery and charge
    • low quality mic
    • low quality audio

Conclusion

To conclude, this smart watch has its pros and cons. I would say get it if you are just looking for an entry level smart watch and just kind of want to see what smart watches are all about. For what it does, it is definitely worth what you pay.

At this low price point, it is a good value and you are not losing out on too much money here. But if you want something more reliable, then I would say to go with a little bit better quality. In the end though, you don’t have much to lose by getting this super cheap smartwatch. Well that has been our smart watch GT08 review of the CNPGD smart watch!
