Now I understand many of you may or may not be familiar with the Jaguar brand, but that’s okay because the various aspects of this brand will be explained in this overview.
Most people that are looking into Jaguar watches (or any watch brand for that matter!) want to know where the watches are made, and obviously, if the watches in question are any good at all. About Jaguar Watches
Jaguar is a Swiss luxury watch brand originally founded in 1938 by a watchmaker named Peter Haas. The inspiration for the watch is in the name itself, and is the reason why this brand is named “Jaguar”.
His intention behind the name was to reflect some of the qualities and attributes of the Jaguar. Jaguars are powerful, move with grace and elegance, and are revered in the wild. In the same way, Peter Haas wanted a watch that symbolized power, status, and elegance. Thus the Jaguar watch brand was formed.
In 1989, Jaguar was bought out by, and became a subsidiary of the Festina Watch Group. Unlike Festina watches, however, Jaguar watches are still being produced in Switzerland.

In this section, we will go over the build quality, design, and pricing of Jaguar watches. The goal here is to find out if these watches are worth their hefty price tag.
Build Quality
As with any other watch company, Jaguar has different styles of watches. Their diving watches are especially popular.
Jaguar watches use quartz movement. Some watch purists may criticize a luxury watch for not using mechanical movements, but each movement type has its pros and cons.
When it comes to materials, the cases of Jaguar watches are usually made of stainless steel, with some models being gold-plated. The bands on these watches can be made of stainless steel, leather, or even silicone. So no cheap plastic bands here!
Jaguar watches’ dial window material of choice is sapphire crystal. While the majority of consumer watches will use mineral crystal, you tend to find that more premium watches use sapphire crystal.
As for water resistance, most Jaguar watches have a water resistance to a depth of between 100 and 200 meters. Their diving watches, obviously will have the higher water resistance threshold.
Design
When it comes to design choices, pretty much every Jaguar watch you find has a premium look to it. So it will come as no surprise to anyone that you are wearing a luxury watch.
I had mentioned their dive watches earlier, and they definitely have that Rolex Submariner look going on. But anyway, for the most part, if you are wearing a Jaguar watch, it will catch peoples’ attention, especially the gold plated ones.
Price
So what kind of expense are we looking at when it comes time to purchase a Jaguar watch? Surprisingly enough, it’s not too bad for a luxury watch. You can expect to spend about twice the cost of a typical Seiko, for a Jaguar watch.
Once again though, it depends on what model you are buying, whether it is used or new, what year, etc. These can all be factors, so the price can be much more, or much less, depending on what you are looking for.
Now some people may think that these kinds of prices are pretty high, but keep in mind that you are paying for a luxury watch. Other luxury watch brands such as Rolex, or Tag Heuer, for example, may have watches in the thousands of dollars ranges. So by comparison, Jaguar watches are not really that expensive.

So Are Jaguar Watches Any Good?
If you are looking for a quality Swiss luxury watch at a decent price, then Jaguar watches would be a good choice. The fact that you can get even gold plated watches, and premium designs at more affordable prices makes Jaguar a great entry level luxury watch.
Ultimately though, as the saying goes, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Jaguar may not be as well known as others in the luxury watch space, but if you like what you see, and you can afford it, then you should go ahead and get one.

Jaguar Executive Diver J862/3
This is one of the Jaguar watches that takes inspiration from the Rolex Submariner. The Jaguar Executive diver is a beautiful diving watch. The band and case are two-tone gold and silver in color with a green dial.
This watch uses quartz movement. It is a chronograph watch made from stainless steel, with a dial window made of sapphire crystal. It is water resistant to a depth of 200 meters.

Jaguar Special Edition J691/1
This is another Jaguar chronograph. The J691/1 has a stunning gold color to its case. This is due to the fact that the stainless steel case is actually gold-plated. It also features gold colored markings and chronograph features on the dial. The black color of the watch and dial really make the gold color pop.
This Jaguar watch uses quartz movement. The band is silicone. Unlike the Jaguar Executive Diver, this one is not a diving watch. You will, however, get water resistance to a depth of 100 meters with this one though. As with other Jaguar luxury watches, the J691/1 also features a sapphire crystal dial window.
