This is quite an odd looking term for those who are unfamiliar with it. First of all, the “WR” stands for “water resistance”. A “Bar” is a metric unit used to describe pressure.
In this case, 1 Bar is the equivalent to the pressure of a depth of 33 feet underwater. So WR20Bar, would refer to the pressure in a depth of 660 feet underwater, since 33 x 20 would give you 660.

Specs
The Casio G Shock WR20BAR uses Japanese quartz movement and features an analog-digital display screen. Its dial window is made from mineral crystal and its case and bezel is made of resin. The case diameter is 5.1 centimeters and it is 17 millimeters thick. The band is also made of resin and is 16 millimeters wide. Its buckle uses a clasp to secure the band.
Design
The design is where the WR20BAR really stands out. It has a very unique look when compared to typical G Shock series watches. There is a lot going on on the dial face of this watch. Despite having a digital display, it also contains minute and hour hands. This combination is commonly referred to as an ana-digi display. The copper colored hands are gear shaped at the bottom, which gives them an almost steampunk aesthetic.
It has a water pressure gauge on the left side, which is also copper colored, as well as the innermost ring. The analog markers and writing around the bezel are silver in color. The entire rest of the watch, bezel and band included, are straight black. It is definitely a cool looking watch, thanks to the design of the dial!

As you would expect from this type of watch, the Casio G Shock WR20BAR features water resistance up to a depth of 660 feet. It does also have it’s own LED backlighting, so visibility in the dark won’t be an issue. It has a countdown timer, as well as a 1/1000 second stopwatch feature.
This watch can be set to world time, and multiple different time zones. Of course it is also shock resistant, which is a staple of the G Shock series of watches, so it can take a beating. It also has a water pressure gauge, which is an excellent feature to have if you take it scuba diving.

Is It Worth It?
So does the Casio G Shock WR20BAR live up to expectations? Absolutely! Not only does it have plenty of great features, but it also has a very neat dial display aesthetic. This is the watch to get if you like outdoor activities. You can take this watch hiking, hunting, climbing, diving, etc, and it should hold up just fine.
