Before we even get started with the review, we are going to answer some commonly asked questions.
Can You Swim With A 20 Bar Watch?
Yes you can absolutely swim with a 20 Bar watch! You can even go diving with it, but you are limited to a depth of 660 feet deep, which we will get into in the next section.
What Is WR20Bar?
This is quite an odd looking term for those who are unfamiliar with it. First of all, the “WR” stands for “water resistance”. A “Bar” is a metric unit used to describe pressure.
In this case, 1 Bar is the equivalent to the pressure of a depth of 33 feet underwater. So WR20Bar, would refer to the pressure in a depth of 660 feet underwater, since 33 x 20 would give you 660.
What Does 20 Bar Mean On A Watch?
If you read the previous section, then you already know what 20 Bar means. So 20 Bar on a watch means that the watch can be worn underwater to a depth of 660 feet.
G Shock Watches Casio WR20BAR Review
The Casio G Shock WR20BAR uses Japanese quartz movement and features an analog-digital display screen. Its dial window is made from mineral crystal and its case and bezel is made of resin. The case diameter is 5.1 centimeters and it is 17 millimeters thick. The band is also made of resin and is 16 millimeters wide. Its buckle uses a clasp to secure the band.
The design is where the WR20BAR really stands out. It has a very unique look when compared to typical G Shock series watches. There is a lot going on on the dial face of this watch. Despite having a digital display, it also contains minute and hour hands. This combination is commonly referred to as an ana-digi display. The copper colored hands are gear shaped at the bottom, which gives them an almost steampunk aesthetic.
It has a water pressure gauge on the left side, which is also copper colored, as well as the innermost ring. The analog markers and writing around the bezel are silver in color. The entire rest of the watch, bezel and band included, are straight black. It is definitely a cool looking watch, thanks to the design of the dial!
